When I think about women’s ministry, I don’t see it as a social club or a gathering for venting about family issues. It’s not about spa nights or sharing tips on household savings. Women’s ministry is meant to be so much more—it’s a space for genuine conversations about Jesus, his transformative love, and the ways he reshapes our lives. It’s a safe environment to discuss God’s grace and how it intersects with real-life challenges like infertility, divorce, singleness, financial struggles, societal pressures, and even sensitive topics like menstruation and menopause—issues that deserve to be addressed.
This ministry is about building a community rooted in God’s redemptive love. Women need relationships with other women. I personally value the wisdom of godly mentors who have navigated life’s difficulties and can guide me through unfamiliar experiences. These connections are essential and irreplaceable. We also need women who can show us how the gospel shapes our identity, not the other way around. These relationships help us understand what it means to live as children of God in a world where our worth and personhood are often questioned. Women’s ministry isn’t an isolated program; it’s part of the church’s mission to make disciples. Authentic discipleship happens when we set aside pretense and engage in honest discussions about our everyday lives. We Thrive in Community God designed us for relationships, reflecting his triune nature in our very being.
While I’ve faced frustrations with women’s ministry at times, it has been a vital space for spiritual growth. Though I’ve learned from men in the church, it’s the women who have taught me profound lessons about sacrifice, spiritual gifts, and servant leadership. I’m still growing, and I know I need the support of other women to continue that journey. You need it too, and there are women who need you in return. So, embrace community where you are with what you have. It won’t always be easy, but it’s worth it. Women need to hear the gospel in ways that resonate with them. Supporting one another in faith is the heart of women’s ministry.
